"Jack?... No, there is very little music in the name Jack, if any at all, indeed. It does not thrill. It produces absolutely no vibrations... I have known several Jacks, and they all, without exception, were more than usually plain."

Had to go with Jack-I have a nephew & 2 uncles named Jack-who I love tremendously! I like to play jacks, eat Apple Jacks, be scared by a jack-in-the-box, my husband is a jack-of-all-trades and my daughter loves to do jumping jacks! Michchick, there is lots of music in the name of Jack...Jumping Jack Flash, Hit the Road Jack, The House that Jack Built, All Jacked Up, Happy Jack, Captain Jack, Jack of All Parades, Jack & Diane...although it may not thrill or produce vibrations. Besides the great story of Jack & the Beanstalk, there is a wonderful kids' book called Jack Quack. Wouldn't want to be a one-eyed Jack or Wolfman Jack but, have been called a JackA**! Jack Frost gets on my nerves after awhile but, I can always warm up w/ Jack Daniels (while eating Crackerjacks to sweeten the taste)! Often, I feel like I don't know Jack and that I'm not nimble or quick enough to make it over a candlestick! Can't wait to carve my Jack O'Lantern! Hope everyone has a spectacular autumn!

Brimagmir- lol! I was quoting from The Importance of Being Earnest where a man named Jack (whose been pretending to be someone named Earnest) proposes to his beloved and she tells him she loves the name Earnest, He, in turn, says he never really cared for the name of Earnest and likes the name Jack better. That was her response. The Importance of Being Earnest is one of my favorites by Oscar Wilde.
Jack is a nickname (though I never understood why) for John...and as my life is filled with Johns, I actually did vote Jack!

Jack. I had some Jack Daniel's last night on and airplane. Coincidence?

For some reason the name Jack annoys me. Maybe it's because it's one of those nicknames that people insist on using as full names. I hate that.
Jill is much nicer.

I like how you can write jill with just straight lines and dots. It's not a proper j to just have the line extend down without a curve, but it is recognized. A Jill was an excellent coworker/unofficial teacher to me for four years.
I like how the Brimagmir/michchick thing worked out. That was funny/good. I don't like ToT tension.

Here is one possibility for the John Jack nickname.
John-Jack
One of the most famous bearers of this name, John F. Kennedy, was known to friends and family as "Jack." But I wonder if he knew how much history that name had? John is a name with history stretching back far into Biblical times. However, during medieval times, the name John was altered slightly in the Germanic tongues to Jankin or Jackin. Out of that, we get the nickname Jack.

Jack, not sure why. I don't know any Jacks or Johns, suprisingly. Hmm...
Just out of curiosity, I want to ask you all to name all of the guys you know decently well. Just the names. I know a Corey, Colby, Ted, Jay, Luke, Brian, Shawn, Hayden, Richard, Craig, Brandon, Connor, Garrett, Gary, and Doug. I think I got em all.

Whoops, I forgot Joel, my cousin's husband, and Tony, an old friend from middle school. Sorry Joel and Tony!
Oh...I apologize if the above question is weird. I'm on a couple pain meds right now and my 'I'm being too weird' radar isn't quite functional.

There was a guy that I used to like named Jack. I don't really know anyone named Jill.
Let's see, my dad's name is Walter, but he goes by Wayne which is his middle name. I have a half-brother named Adrian, but we call him AJ. My brothers-in-law are named Bryce and Rue (short for Rueben). Bryce's dad's name is Paul and Rue's dad's name is Tom. I have an Uncle David, Brian, Charlie, and Audie. Cousins named Adrian, Shelby, Naathan, Jonathon, Norman, Earl, Brian Wayne, Tom, Robert, and some more I can't remember right now. My family is really big. My dad is youngest out of 11.
The guys I work with are named Terry, Logan, Michael, Kevin, and Bradley. The rest of my fellow employees are female.
