Snow is beautiful. I wish more people liked it. When leaves are on the ground it means everything is ugly. I realize it's easier to rake light leaves than heavy snow, but I never have to do either so I'm going by the beauty of it.

Good choice today. For us that don't get snow [ever] we will properbly vote for Shoveling Snow. Me I prefer raking leaves, there is really nothing better than spending hours raking leaves, and then jumping in them. Great chilfhood memories :)

Last last post ............... I am taking a break this weekend from all technology. Bought 3 books this week that I am going to finish by the end of the weekend. Dan Brown - The Lost Symbol. Marie Heese - The Double Crown and Stieg Larsonn - The Girl who played with fire. Have to read the last one so that I can order the last book in the Millennium trilogy. Gonna be a good weekend.

Have a nice weekend SnowCat! Infact, I hope everyone has a nice weekend, free of raking or shoveling!

When I can mulch snow with my lawnmower, then I'll vote snow.
Rob is moving to his new apartment today! So, of course, it's raining!

They can mulch snow in Michigan? What an odd place.
I like snow better and there's less space to clear (the walk way as opposed to the entire lawn).

Raking leaves. Of course, I never do either activity. No deciduous trees and snow is rare and short-lived around here

We only have a very few, very small deciduous trees on our property, so I don't even bother raking.
We do, however, have a front walk that needs constant attention when it snows because my wife babysits from home for other people's kids. We also have a daughter who takes the bus to school, but the bus only stops at the corners of the block. And where is our house located? That's right! Darn near dead center of the block -- so that's another 100-200 feet of sidewalk shoveling to do. Plus, we access our cars via an alleyway and one car is in a garage and the other car is in a carport on the other side of said garage. In a heavy snow that we can't just drive through, that's another, let's see, about 1200 sq. ft. to clear assuming our alley gets cleared one way or another, which it doesn't always. If I have to shovel the alleyway....well, needless to say...
Raking leaves gets my vote -- because I don't have to do it!
So there!!

Hey, I think this is my 7th poll run! I think I submitted it last year. Raking leaves all the way. I live in New England. We get tons of both. Raking leaves may cause blisters, but it doesn't cause heart attacks or throw your back out. A foot of heavy wet snow atop a half inch of solid ice is not enjoyable to move. To the amateurs out there: Pouring boiling water on ice does not work. Unless the air temperature is well above freezing, the boiling water simply freezes into more ice. Also, do not try clumping kitty litter. It turns into cement. Salt does not melt ice. It simply slows the freezing process of new ice. When the air temperature fluctuates around 32F/0C, so that ice is both melting and freezing, salt on top of ice will mix with the melted ice and increase the time it takes to refreeze.

Snow. Snow is always a welcome sign for me, it is so rare.
