Monopoly makes me crabby. It's fun for a while but then I start losing money like crazy. And Randy doesn't believe in putting money on free parking. (Nazi.)

I agree with jen Monopoly is fun but needs a time limit. Scrabble makes me think, and I know how much longer it's going to last because I can see the remaining tiles.

Yeah, Jeremy, Scrabble kind of requires that you can correctly spell at least a few words.

yikes! i didn't realize we had polls over the weekend.

... ok. caught up.

scrabble. because ... hmm... probably because it's a game my Grandma likes to play, and in which she is quite proficient at smoking people.

oh, i think monopoly is cool too, only when it is played by the official rules though. house rules break it and are what make it take too long.

We play Boggle or Upwords at our house occasionally, but I'm honestly not sure that I've ever played Scrabble. Does that mean I should have abstained?

You're not allowed to abstain, Jeremy. You just have to change the question. Instead of answering the question of "which game do I prefer?", you could answer the question of "which game have I played more often?", or "which word am I more likely to shout if I hit my thumb with a hammer?"

Monopoly is part of a grand conspiracy to form us to be capitalists.

Monopoly is a brilliant game WHEN you play it by the correct rules. (And even better if you play by the tournament rules... see my website: http://www.theswitchingyard.com/monopoly.html

I'm really surprised that Scrabble is winning by such a margin. Honestly, I expected Monopoly to win, and I expected it to be close. What's the explanation? Scrabble players are more intellectual and highbrow, and thus are more likely to be drawn to intellectual and highbrow websites like This and That?

Well, that's obviously not the reason...

I prefer playing with numbers. So Monopoly.

I would have voted for Scrabble, I like word games. Also, every time I hit my thumb with a hammer I yell out, "Monopoly", so there's a negative connection there. LOL
